Cantina Villa Di Geggiano (the family winery)


The Bianchi Bandinelli wine company is owned by the Boscu Bianchi Bandinelli family and Malcolm Caplan. Malcolm Caplan acquired his share in the business in 1990. The company produces a limited range of high quality Tuscan wines. Currently there are three “qualities”: - Villa di Geggiano Riserva – Chianti Classico (DOCG). Villa di Geggiano – Chianti Classico (DOCG). Bandinello – Vino Rosso di Toscana (IGT) Geggiaiolo– Vino Rosso di Toscana (IGT) -The “Villa” wines are made with 95% -97% Sangiovese grapes, the balance being Cabernet Sauvignon. - Bandinello is made with 60% Sangiovese and the balance is made up with Ciliegiolo and Syrah. -Geggiaiolo is made of Sangiovese,Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah in equal parts,matured for 24 months in french oak 225Lt barrels medium toasting. The company charges “ex-cellar” prices for the wines. The prices rise in steps of around 40% from Geggianello to the Riserva.
